IELTS for migration
For permanent residency and settlement, most countries ask for IELTS General Training.
Always confirm with your destination authority or sponsor. Different visas and migration routes require different IELTS tests (Academic, General Training, IELTS for UKVI, or IELTS Life Skills). Before booking, confirm with the body that will receive your score (the embassy, immigration authority, employer, education agent, or registration body) which test they require. IDP IELTS Kuwait is the official test centre. We help you book, prepare and sit your test. The responsibility for choosing the correct test rests with you and the organisation receiving your score.
IELTS General Training is used for migration to English-speaking countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. It focuses on everyday and workplace English.
For a UK visa, take IELTS General Training for UKVI. For UK family and settlement visas, you may need IELTS Life Skills (A1 or B1) instead.
