IELTS test format
IELTS has four sections. Here is what each one involves.
The four sections
Listening, 30 min
Four recorded conversations and monologues.
Reading, 60 min
Three long texts; passages differ for Academic and General Training.
Writing, 60 min
Two tasks; the questions differ for Academic and General Training.
Speaking, 11 to 14 min
A face-to-face conversation with a certified examiner.
Listening, Reading and Writing are completed on computer in one sitting. The Speaking test is in person and may be on the same day, one day before, or one day after the test.
